A WOMAN has been arrested and taken into custody after another woman was allegedly chased with a hammer.

The 30-year-old woman was detained in Glendale Road, Burnham-On-Crouch, on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon on Friday, May 20.

A spokeswoman for Essex Police said: "Police were called at 9.30pm yesterday to a report of a disturbance in Glendale Road, Burnham-on-Crouch.
