Three Essex fire crews called to tackle fridge fire in Heybridge...

Fire crews were called to battle a fridge fire that erupted in a bungalow this morning (November 24).Three crews, two from Maldon and one from Witham, attended the address in Holloway Road, Heybridge, shortly before 11am.Wearing breathing apparatus, firefighters used two hose reel jets to extinguish the fire by 11.11am.Smoke was cleared from the house using a positive pressured ventilation fan.

Police release CCTV image in hunt for suspected Burnham burglar

Police would like to identify this man in connection with a burglary at a house in Maldon Road, Burnham.It took place sometime between 9.45am and 12.15pm on Thursday, November 5. The rear glass door of the property was smashed open and jewellery and bank cards were stolen. Police are appealing for witnesses to a house burglary which happened in North Fambridge.Thieves broke into a house in Franklin Road after smashing a rear kitchen window and stole jewellery and cash. Essex pensioner pedestrian, 89, hit by car

Police are appealing for information following a road traffic collision on Connaught Avenue, Frinton, which happened at about 7.10pm on Saturday, November 21.A grey VW Polo and an 89-year-old woman pedestrian were in collision near to the junction with Forth Avenue. The pedestrian was treated for leg and facial injuries by paramedics at the scene before being conveyed to hospital. She continues to receive hospital treatment. Stansted Airport train delays after overhead wire problems

People travelling to Stansted Airport by train this morning could experience delays because of overhead wire problems.The delays have been caused by a tree falling onto the wires yesterday near Sawbridgeworth, with trains being unable to run between Broxbourne and Bishop's Stortford. Engineers are hoping to have the repairs completed by 8.30am this morning, but there could be delays while trains get back on schedule.
